Coming Home To Our Community Home
In the Fall of 2018, Agape’s Way expanded our residential services by opening a small group home in the local area of Orlando, FL community. Group homes let residents live independently with assistance in a supportive, cooperative environment and provide neighborhood living and a sense of community. We plan to continue to expand the number of group homes in our program to enable more interested residents the opportunity to move to a small group home.
Every person who lives in our community homes will receive the following services and support:
- Self-advocacy skills development
- Individual service planning adhering to the principles of person-centered planning
- The opportunity to maximize involvement in the community, including participation in religious services, community-based recreation programs, entertainment and shopping, government resources and more
- Vocational planning ranging from developmental training to individual employment
- Medical, psychiatric and counseling services to maintain good health and well-being and develop coping skills
- Nursing services available 24 hours 7 days a week.
- Specializing working with residents who may be bed or wheelchair bound with gastric tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and frequent turning needs.
Our Services
Life Skills Development:
Provides services that consist of non-medical care, supervision, and socialization activities (bowling, movies, etc.) to recipients age 21 years or older. Activities that connect an individual to the community.
Personal Supports/Companion Care:
Provides assistance and training to the recipient in activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and preparation of medicines. This service is assigned to encourage community integration and to teach the recipient about home-related responsibilities.
Private Duty Nursing:
Provides continuous nursing services primarily in the comfort of your home by a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
Respite Services:
Provide relief to the caregiver by assisting in maintaining a recipients own home and property as a clean, sanitary, and safe environment. Generally used due to a brief planned or emergency absence or when primary care giver is available, but temporary physically unable to care for or supervise.
Residential Nursing:
Provides continuous nursing services primarily in licensed residential facility by Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
Skilled Nursing:
Provides continuous nursing services at the residence and other waiver service sites, such as adult day training program. Consists of part-time or intermittent nursing care visits, provided on a daily basis by Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
How Our Services Work
To help our residents make the most of our services, each resident is assessed for individual strengths and needs, along with their physical, emotional, and psychological challenges to ensure the effectiveness of our services.
Our professional staff integrates social services, specialized therapies, recreation and medical services specifically for each person’s unique needs. Residents are involved in the design of their own individual program which incorporates their personal goals that may include educational opportunities, pursuit of interests and enjoyment.
A strong part of our programming is community integration. Each resident engages in productive life-skills training and recreational activities. Our strong interdisciplinary team helps each resident strive to maximize their responsibility, independence and socialization skills.
